RID Video React: Meet the 'Cons

I've said this in my last two Robots In Disguise reaction-to-video posts, and I'll say it again: check out Hasbro's transformers.com! You can see the video we are gonna be covering today by clicking this link, or you can just watch it below.

And don't forget that you can watch me watching the above video in the video down below. But who wants to watch that anyway?
Anyway, biology and essays await me in an endless and bad mood inducing torrent, so let's get this over with.

"This was the prison ship Alcamor [tentative spelling], bearing Cyberton's most wanted Decepticons. Now, I reconed the crash site, and we're missing most of our stasis cells. Their inmates are presumably at large."
I am not sure how to spell Alcamor. Anyway, I'm confused as to why Fixit says that some of the stasis cells are missing. Watching the Bumblebee's Mission clip, I assumed that the stasis cells were simply destroyed, seeing as Fixit told Bumblebee that he had repaired a cell. Of course, just because most of the stasis cells are missing doesn't mean that several can't still be there for Fixit to repair. But that raises the question: why would the cells be missing? What use would the 'Cons have for the cells? Assuming that the cells are missing because they were taken (and assuming that the 'Cons are the ones who took them).

I'm assuming that this is the criminal database, featuring every convict 'Con, information on their abilities, mods, weapons and possibly background. We get a peek at a few Decepticon silhouettes as the database is… decoded? I dunno. It looks like its being decoded, kind of like how the Iacon database was decoded in Transformers Prime. Anyhoo. Decepticon silhouettes...
Steeljaw, Bisk, Chop Shop (?), Hammerstrike, Terrashock (?) or Quillfire (?), Underbite and Thunderhoof. Not sure why there aren't many, many more.

"Savor the daylight. Things are about to get rather dark."
Fixit said that the Alcamor held some of Cybertron's most wanted Decepticons. This raises the question: exactly how much trouble are 'Bee and the gang in for? I mean these 'Cons wouldn't be on Cyberton's most wanted list for nothing. Contrary to what we've seen in certain clips (Masters of Destruction, Meet the Autobots and Team Bumblebee etc.) these Decepticons can't be total pushovers. There is gonna have to be some large challenge from more than just Steeljaw (who will undoubtedly be the ultimate boss battle).

We see quite a few 'Cons in this clip. Here they are, as best as I could make out, anyway.
Hammerstrike, who does, in fact, turn into a sub. And he goes into the water too, and seems to be freaky fast for a sub. Still… That's not very useful on land. And I'm going to keep pointing that out until I see him do something truly awesome, worthy of a 'former voiced by David Kaye… Da da daaa!

Bisk.

Chop Shop, or at least presumably. It looks like Chop Shop. By the way, if Bumblebee's size is about the same as it was in TFPrime (which it probably isn't), I seriously think that Chop Shop (presumably) is about the size of Megatron (TFP)! Like, geez…! And even if Bumblebee is larger than he was in TFPrime, Chop Shop (presumably) is still big. Wow, the Decepticons really liked the big guys on the playground, huh?

Terrashock, who seems to do a lot of running on all fours. I'm sure that he can do some pede walking, but I understand that being on all fours would be way faster.

Underbite, who actually seems to manuver pretty well in that big body of his.

Thunderhoof. It's unclear what is going on in this scene, but is that a groundbridge, or possibly spacebridge behind him? Whatever it is, it seems to be sucking stuff into it, and no one wants to go through. (Note Sideswipe's foot at the corner of the screenshot). If it is a groundbridge, or spacebridge, that would totally make sense. I mean, what's a sequel to Transformers Prime without some groundbridge problems?

Filch. I assume that Filch is a kleptomaniac, mainly because of her name, which would actually be a fun personality trait to play with. But why the heck did she snatch Denny? If she is a klepto, maybe she wanted to add something new to her collection or something…? We have yet to see Filch in any mode other than bird-bot mode, and it's unclear if she transforms from a bot into a bird, or from a bird into a vehicle.

"You want to be free? You stay with me."
I can see Steeljaw being an incredibly manipulative character. I know that Decepticons are known for their manipulation, but I can't remember many characters that I legit marked as a manipulative one. G1 Megatron was very manipulative, as was Animated Megatron. I give most of the manipulation points to Starscream in TFP. Though Megatron, of course, was very manipulative himself. Anyway, it is clear that Steeljaw is another manipulative Decepticon leader. I can see this whole conflict with Grimlock, in which Steeljaw is trying to get the amnesic former 'Con to remember being a 'Con in the first place. Seriously, you can't have a former bad guy with amnesia with the good guys without another bad guy trying to get the amnesic to remember who he used to be.

Ok, before I wrap this up, I have a few things to say. I know that awhile back I said I would talk about the Transformers: Robots In Disguise opening theme song, but the thing is, the video has been deleted off YouTube. So, sorry.
Another thing I have to say is, thank you, if you're reading these posts. For some reason, that means a lot to me. I know that I am in no way the most coherent person ever, and my very recently high stress levels haven't been helping much. But, seriously… thanks.
Anyway, 'Til all are one!

RID Video Reaction: Meet Team 'Bee

Check out Hasbro's official Transformers website. You can see the video yourself here, or just watch it below.

Also, you can see my immediate reaction to the video in the clip below. Be aware that it might take awhile for the clip to load up, so if you do want to see it, be patient.
So, time for a mini review. Be aware that I have my little cousins over at our apartment, so I am crazy tired. I'm not really putting my all into this review.

"Play time's over!"
Alright, so contrary to what I said at the end of my reaction video, Bumblebee did have something to say in his section. Also, awesome line, 'Bee! You need to have a catchphrase! (And not 'Roll up and roll out,' please).

We finally get to see 'Bee's capture device. Like Strongarm's, it goes into the 'point' catagory. I'd really like to see how a capture device in the 'throw' catagory works. Anyhoo, I can see how Bumblebee's capture device is able to 'capture'. Catch that sucker in an electric net!! As for Strongarm's… still not quite sure how it works in the 'capture' department.

"At least our fugitive will be easy to track."
Strongarm is seeing and pointing out the obvious, but for some reason this makes me wonder if Strongarm might be a tracker of some sort. I mean, being an Elite Guard comes with all sorts of odd knowledge, or at least I would think so. I suppose it depends on where you're stationed.

"Cannonball!"
Well, Grimlock obviously has a catchphrase, along with what seems to be a signature move: jumping high into the air, and coming down on his opponent, flattening them. I'm sure it is very effective (no sarcasm). In case it wasn't obvious, Grimlock is going to be the brawler on the team. Primus, that is very obvious. Ah, gee, I am soooo tired…

I'm not sure why, but the style of this particular scene irked me. I mean, the way they colored Terrashock. The tan outlines of his black horns were visually distracting, and they seemed to put too much emphasis on his 'shiny-ness'. Now, I may be taking it a bit too far with the shiny-ness part, but I am unashamed to say that those outlines are visually distracting. I think they need to work on that.

"Just passing through!"
You wouldn't believe how many different interpretations people have of Sideswipe, either canon or fanon. He's either an irresponsible young soldier who enjoys annoying other bots, or he's an experienced young lieutenant who enjoys annoying other bots. Either way, he's a snarky badass. For some reason, I doubt that RID Sideswipe is really a soldier, though he obviously has some fancy dance fighting skills. It would be interesting if Robots In Disguise took a leaf out of TFAnimated's book, making use of Prowl's origin story for Sideswipe.
A young, disrespectful hotshot bot who has no interest in being a soldier winds up being an unwilling student to an older, well-experienced bot. The older bot teaches the younger bot some mean fighting skills, angsty backstory, older bot ends up being killed, bla bla bla bla bla… I just realized I kind of gave TFP Smokescreen's backstory as well (only he really wanted to be a soldier).

It seems like the bots are hunting down Filch in this scene. I'm really curious about the statue they're climbing, though.
I mean, look at it! It's huge!!

"I order you to stand clown-! Stand brown-! Stand down, right now!"
I told you Fixit would be a badass! I mean, he's telling a much bigger bot, a 'Con at that (or at least logic assumes that its a 'Con), to stand down. I hypothesize that this might take place right after the crash. Like, the 'Cons start escaping, and little Fixit takes it on himself to stop them. It's not shown who he's talking to, but I think it's Steeljaw.
And I'm pretty sure that this confrontation won't end well for Fixit.

Thank goodness I got this choppy review over with! I'm really tired, and biology has very recently been added to my school work… Anyhoo. 'Til all are one!

Lord of the Rings: Biblical Parallels

So, for school, I had to find one aspect or object or character or theme in Lord of the Rings that reminded me of something in the Bible. I chose the White Tree of Gondor and the Tree of Life. By the way, this is not an essay, these are notes…

===

WHITE TREE OF GONDOR
History: the White Tree of Gondor grew from the seed of a tree called Nimloth, from beyond Middle Earth, the seed being a gift to Elendil, Isildur's father. Nimloth grew from the seed of a tree called Galathilion, from Eressëa. Galathilion was the fruit of Telperion, from the 'Uttermost West', when the world was still young. The White Tree represented the kings of Gondor, so when the line of kings failed, lesser men taking the throne, the tree withered, representing a broken kingdom. (Book two chapter two, book six chapter five, Appendix A I) However, another seed from the line of Nimloth was planted in a barren valley in Middle Earth, before the line of Isildur. This seed didn't start growing until Aragorn was ready to be king, a sign to him that his line would endure, and a sign of a renewed kingdom. (Book six chapter five)

TREE OF LIFE
History: God created the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden, all of which God gave to Adam and Eve The Tree of Life gave a special fruit which allowed man to live forever. (Genesis 2:9) God wanted Adam and Eve to care for the tree, and expand the garden, taming it. (Genesis 1:28) But after the Fall, in which Adam and Eve broke God's one rule and ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, God removed Adam and Eve from the garden and the tree, and the tree was presumably destroyed in the flood. (Genesis 3:22-23) In the new heavens, though, the Tree of Life still lives. It's in the city, on either side of an entire river, and it produces a lot of fruit. It's leaves are for healing nations. (Revelation 22:1-2)

===

WHITE TREE OF GONDOR
The White Tree was given to Elendil as a seed by an ancient people called the Eldar. (Appendix A I)

TREE OF LIFE
The Tree of Life was created by God, and given to man. (Genesis 1:29)

===

WHITE TREE OF GONDOR
The king is represented by the White Tree. Kingsfoil/Athelas is known to be the king's leaf. The king is prophesied to have the hands of a healer. (Book five chapter eight)

TREE OF LIFE
The Tree of Life has leaves for the healing of nations. And the king, Jesus, is the one who brings about the healing of nations. (Revelation 22:2)

===

WHITE TREE OF GONDOR
Even though the line of kings failed, and the White Tree died, there was still a plan. A seed was planted long before Aragorn's line existed, waiting for the moment when Aragorn was ready to become king before growing: a new tree, representing a new line. (Book six chapter five)

TREE OF LIFE
Even though Adam and Eve lost the Tree of Life, and it was destroyed, God still had a plan. A fully grown and cultivated tree is in the new heavens, in God's city. (Revelation 22:2)

===

WHITE TREE OF GONDOR
At the fall of the first line of kings, the White Tree died. (Book two chapter two) At the rise of a new line of kings, a new tree was grown. (Book six chapter five)

TREE OF LIFE
When the first king, Adam, fell, the Tree of Life was lost to us. (Genesis 3: 22-23) When the new king, Jesus, makes the new heavens and new earth, the Tree of Life will be given to us again. (Revelation 22:2)

RID Video Reaction: Meet the Autobots

Check out the official transformers.com's new look! You can see the video yourself here, or watch it below.

Also, see me react to watching the Meet the Autobots video.
I truly enjoyed the video, but I don't think I'll be making a review on this due to the fact that school and other writing is taking up my time. Besides, there isn't too much analyze in the video. We see quite a few 'Cons, like Terrashock, Hammerstrike and Filch, and a few new scenes. That Egyptian-esq temple though…
It reminds me of a few things. For one, the pyramid Smokescreen and Arcee went to in episode Alpha/Omega of Transformers Prime. For another, Indiana Jones.
I'm really interested to see what would bring the 'Bots there. Sure, maybe one of the 'Cons will hide out in the temple and the Autobots have to pursue him there. But I sure hope that there is something more… epic.
Maybe a G1-esq plot in which there is a crazy crystal of power in Peru that helps the 'Cons access a crazy power source an Incan temple… G1 references! Appreciate it!

RID Decepticons: GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!

There are many escaped Decepticon prisoners on the loose, wandering the earth.

And the Autobots, with their fancy dance capture devices…
Have gotta catch them all!
(Screw you, that was funny!)

But seriously, we have a crap load of Decepticons we have to keep track of, and that seems to be only for season one. With the help of the TFWiki, I will list them off. Be aware that not all of these characters have pictures yet. So, let's roll.
=====
Underbite, voiced by Liam O'Brian.
Underbite is a huge, bestial Decepticon.
====
Steeljaw, voiced by Troy Baker.
"Savor the daylight. Things are about to get rather dark."
It's not been easy being a Decepticon lately. Ever since the rebirth of Cybertron, the Autobots have held the upper hand, but as far as Steeljaw is concerned, however, that's about to change. With the ship imprisoning him crash landing on Earth, Steeljaw's found a new opportunity to make the Autobots pay for his years of incarceration. And lo and behold, he's got plenty of freed Decepticons to choose from to build up an army capable of taking on Bumblebee and his ragtag bunch of misfits. He's got the charisma and leadership abilities to sway them over to his side. And who says his plans have to stop on Earth?

Wow. This character just got waaaaaayyyy more interesting to me…
===
Hammerstrike, voiced by David Kaye.
Hammerstrike is a shark. His alt-mode is a submarine.
===
Bisk, voiced by Khary Peyton.
For Bisk, everything is a game. Racing, fighting… it's all about tallying up a score and then putting that score at the top of some list, then bragging about it. Loudly.
===
Chop Shop, voiced by David Hunt.
Chop Shop is a Decepticon who can split into five robotic spiders.

Is it just me or does he look a bit like Beast Wars character Tarantulas? Just me?
===
Terrashock, voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson.
Terrashock is a buffalo-like Decepticon.
===
Thunderhoof, voiced by Frank Stallone.
Thunderhoof is a deer-themed Decepticon. He transforms into a tractor with a thresher attachment.
===
Filch, voiced by Constance Zimmer.
Filch is a bird-like Decepticon.

And I will logically guess that she is a femme because she is voiced by Constance Zimmer. Yay! Femme character!
===
Springload, voiced by John Steven Rocha.
Springload is a Decepticon frog. He turns into a ranching pickup truck, resembling a Ford Bronco.
===
Ped, voiced by Eddie Deezen.
Ped is a burrowing Decepticon. His vehicle mode is a futuristic tanker truck.
===
Quillfire, voice by Andy Milder.
Quillfire is a Decepticon porcupine. He transforms into an armored militarized pickup truck.
===
Fracture, voiced by Kevin Pollak.
Fracture is a Decepticon who controls two Minicons named Airazor (voiced by Roger Craig Smith)
and Divebomb (voiced by Khary Peyton).
He [Fracture] transforms into a motorcycle.

Ok, so not a femme like I was hoping. But he still looks awesome! Also, Khary Peyton is really getting around with these characters. Wow.
===
Clampdown, voiced by Jim Cummings.
Clampdown is a crab-like Decepticon. His vehicle mode is a boy racer coupe.
===
Welp, that seems to be it so far. A few things were added and/or removed since I last wrote about the 'Cons, due to the fact that the TFWiki adds and/or removes stuff almost daily. I may or may not constantly update you guys on the 'Cons… Ok, constantly is a bad word to use. I'll update you guys when I update you. Or you guys can update yourselves by going to tfwiki.net. Seriously, guys, they are the most hilarious wiki ever. Anyway, I might just update this post over and over again, so...
