A friend of mine is making an online magazine. It's for teenage girls, and run by teenage girls. She calls it Indigo, the 'ind' being the beginning of 'independent'. That and 'Indie' means 'independent'.
The first issue is coming out the 1st of September. I can't wait!

Just Because…

Just because one is homeschooled, doesn't mean that they are ignorant.
Jut because one goes to public school, doesn't mean that they are dirty minded.

Just because one is a introvert, doesn't mean that they are without friends.
Just because one is an extrovert, doesn't mean that they always do stupid things.

Just because one hates books, doesn't mean that they are without knowledge.
Just because one reads every book they can get, doesn't mean that they are know-it-alls.

Just because one is quiet, doesn't mean that they are antisocial.
Just because one talks a lot, doesn't mean that they are conceited.

Just because one can sing, doesn't mean that they are hungering for fame.
Just because one can't sing, doesn't mean that they are without other gifts.

Just because one is a girl, doesn't mean that she is without strength.
Just because one is a boy, doesn't mean that he is a jerk.

Davy Jone sounds like Hardy boys (Whaaatt?)

Me asking my littlest sister to fetch me a book.

Me: Could you please hand me the first blue one?
Raewyn: Ok. -looks through my shelves, then hands me a Percy Jackson book-
Me: -laughing- Is this some sort of joke?
Raewyn: -also laughing- Fine. -goes back to the shelf, then hands me another Percy Jackson book-
Me: That's yellow!
Raewyn: Oh! You wanted…
Me: The first blue one!
Raewyn: There are, like, TWO blue ones at the end!
Me: The FIRST one.
Raewyn: Oh. -hands me The Arkadians by Lloyd Alexander-
Me: -laughing hard- No! The first blue one! It has the number one on it!
Raewyn: -obviously confused, looks back at my shelf. Finally picks out The Tower Treasure- Oh! -hands it to me- You mean the Davy Jones one!
Me: -laughing really really hard, wondering how she could get Davy Jones out of Hardy boys-

We moved!

In case you few who have been reading my blog have been wondering why I haven't been posting, it's because our family recently moved.
Alright, so I told you, now wait patiently for more of my posts…

Personality quizzes

I did a few personality TV character quizzes and got some of the most awesome results.
(Detective Kevin Ryan from Castle)
(Special Agent Timothy 'Tim' McGee from NCIS)
(Agent Pete Lattimer from Warehouse 13)
(Doctor Beverley Crusher from Star Trek: Next Generation)
(Agent Dana Scully from X-Files)
(Agent Danny Williams from Hawaii Five-0)
(Leo Knox from The Finder)
(Wash from Firefly)
Yes, these are all from some of my favorite TV shows…

Daniel 1:3-7

Daniel 1:3-7 (NIV)
[3] Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring in some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility—
[4] young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians.
[5] The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king’s table. They were to be trained for three years, and after that they were to enter the king’s service.
[6] Among these were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.
[7] The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.

So, I was reading through the book of Daniel, when I realized we know Daniel by his Hebrew name, but Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah we know by their Babylonian names, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
I'm normally interested in detail like this for some reason…

Dove's ninth birthday!!!!

My littles sister has turned nine today!!!! She's already received some presents from her family.

Me: A couple cute animal charms for her charmless charm bracelet.
Hawk: A yo-yo.
Lion: A new notebook and a ceramic jewelry box.
Mom and Abba: A hand-me-down iPod touch.

She was really excited about the last one because she's always wanted a camera, and also really wants her own place to play games (she's been using my dad's iPad or Lion's).
Tonight, we're gonna go to a Mexican place and meet a few friends. The Mexican restaurant is sort of known for, on your birthday, putting a sombrero on your head, singing Happy Birthday, giving you cake and ice cream, then taking a picture of you in the sombrero.
And also having cartoons on the TV, which is probably part of the reason why Dove wants to go there in the first place…
