How're you feeling?

I'm mostly feeling very, very tired, as I have had some pretty bad sleep for the past few days. I'm also very lonely, as I have been since last Wednesday. Normally, I would have been doing something with my friends on Saturday… But I have great hopes for THIS Saturday.
I borrowed a Hardy Boys three-in-one casefiles* book from the library on Sunday, which has resulted in me reading it about seven times (roughly in a row), a really happy me and a pretty annoyed sister. No doubt, I'll be reading it more.
I've been suffering from writer's block, which is intensely annoying. I've also been churning a story idea in my mind, trying not to add too much excitement, which is, in my view, totally impossible unless I can control the floodgates…
I hope to give more attention to Abi, who has been lacking it ever since our new Wii games started working.
This is most of what's been going on in my boring life…

*The Hardy boys consists of about four series. Classic, casefiles (for slightly older people), secret files (for 8-10 year olds) and Undercover Brothers (for about 10 and older).

A recent story idea

It was partly Julian's fault. He was the one who wanted to go to that fancy school.
I am Timothy Rike. I should have known.
It was also Tom and Edie's fault. They were the ones who actually let him go to that crazy place.
I am Timothy Rike. A blank face is my shield.
It is also kind of my fault.
I am Timothy Rike. I'm a trouble magnet.
Then it is just plain bad luck. Normal tries to get at us, and rebounds.
I am Timothy Rike. Normality is not an option.

Happy 12/12/12 America!

It's the thirteenth of course over here, but it's 12/12/12, as well as my cousin's birthday, in America. And this photo was too good to pass up.
If you've stuck around long enough in my blog, you would know that I LOVE watching Bones! Happy 12/12/12 Americans, and enjoy the picture. :3

Happy 12/12/12 ya'll! Just for the fun of it, I'll post 12 facts about New Zealand (mostly because The Hobbit is comin our tomorrow). Enjoy today! It's gonna be the last one like it until the next century!

1. The Maori—the first people to come to New Zealand—traditionally greet each other by pressing their noses together.
2. Bats are the only land mammals native to the country.
3. Auckland—New Zealand's largest city—was built on an active volcano field.
4. Snakes are banned everywhere on that island, including zoos.
5. Parents aren't allowed to give kids names with more than 100 characters.
6. One New Zealand insect related to a cricket can grow as big a person's hand (It's called a weta).
7. In the city of Rotorua—a hot spot for geothermal activity—steam rises from some sidewalk cracks.
8. The Maori people called this nation the 'Land of the long white cloud.'
9. Parts of Frying pan lake are hot enough to boil an egg.
10. Wellington, New Zealand, is the southernmost national capital on the planet.
11. Hokey Pokey—vanilla ice cream with toffee chunks—is a popular national treat (and my dad's most fave ice cream flavor).
12. A hill there is named 'Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu.'

(I'm sure I didn't spell the last fact correctly)…

Can't wait for tooommmooorrroooww!

Tomorrow is Saint Nick's day! I can't wait to give my sibling their gifts!
Rough story of Saint Nicholas day:

Nicholas was a rich dude. One night, he heard a girl crying. She was crying because she and her two sisters loved someone, but since their father was too poor to pay for a wedding, they couldn't marry. Nicholas was really upset about this. So he went back to his home, filled a bag full of money, went back to the girl's house, and threw it down the chimney. He waited for her to find it, before going back to his home, well satisfied. But as he lay in his bed, he thought of the girl's two sisters. So on the next two nights, he went through the same routine as the first time. And all the sisters were married, and Nicholas was happy. And he never told anyone about what he did.
The story of Santa Claus is a corruption of the story of Saint Nicholas. On Saint Nicholas day (December 6) children would put their shoes by the door, and in the morning, they would find them full of chocolate coins in remembrance of the money that Nicholas gave the girls. (There are different versions of the shoes thing, but this is the one I remember the most).

I finally got some Hardy Boys books of my own! Whenever we go to a bookstore, I try to find any Hardy Boys books available. My chances are slim, but I look anyway. Anyway, during our Secret Santa, I asked for something Hardy Boys. When I got the present, I noted that it was fairly heavy. I desperately hoped that it was that I thought it was. And it was!! Yessssss! The first three Hardy Boys books!!! Yaaayyy! Thank you soooo much Ilona!
Merry early Christmas ya'll!
P.S. I wish that I wasn't such a fast freakin reader… yup. I finished it all already…

Riddles in the dark

What has roots as nobody sees,
Is taller than trees,
Up, up it goes,
And yet never grows?

Thirty white horses on a red hill,
First they champ,
Then they stamp,
Then they stand still.
[Teeth and chestnuts]

Voiceless it cries,
Wingless flutters,
Toothless it bites,
Mouth less mutters.

An eye in a blue face
Saw an eye in a green face.
"That eye is to this eye"
Said the first eye,
"But in a low place,
Not in a high place."
[Sunshine on daisies]

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

A box without hinges, key, or lid,
Yet golden treasure inside is hid.

Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking.

No-legs lay on one-leg, two-legs sat near on three-legs, four-legs got some.
[A fish on a table, a man on a stool, the cat got the bones]

This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays kings, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.

"What have I got in my pocket?"
"Not fair! Not fair! It isn't fair my precious, is it, to ask us what it's got in it's nassty little pocketses?"
"What have I got in my pocket?"
"It must give us three guesseses, my precious, three guesseses."
"Very well! Guess away!"
"Wrong. Guess again!"
"Wrong! Last guess!"
"Come on! I'm waiting!"
"Time's up!"
"String, or nothing!"
"Both wrong!"

Schooooooolllll… -.-

Just finished exercising with my dad… which was fun! Especially since I get a chocolate protein shake afterwards. :P Now I just need to finish my dreaded math (I'm doing freakin angles right now) and school is done for the day! Still trying to figure out what to get for secret Santa… I hope I'll be able to go to The Curve soon. I know this seems more or less boring, so I'm posting the picture below. Before anyone makes a smart comment, I know it isn't very good. Personally, I like it. Plus, I worked hard on it…

Les Miserables (A bit of the 'I dreamed a dream' lyrics)

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
That hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song un-sung
No wine un-tasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dreams to shame
And still I dream she'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream that life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seems
Now life has killed the dream
I dreamed

Story idea >:)

Steve Darsey was definitely human. There was absolutely no doubt about that. But there were rumors about the Darsey family. A new cat about the house while Steve was EVIDENTLY on some sort of trip. Then, when he came back, the cat was gone. Or the time when a bear hung around the neighborhood, uncomfortably close to the Darsey place. Steve was on a one day outing with friends. The excuse was transparent: Steve HAD no friends. The younger children said that the Darsey family ATE the animals that happened to show up. The teenagers said that Steve was afraid of animals, which lent Steve to a large amount of ribbing at school. The adults simply said it was a coincidence, even if they didn't believe that themselves.
But there was no doubt in anyone's mind: Steve wasn't normal.

Big brothers

Being the oldest of three other kids, there are several times I wish I had a big brother. To me, having a big brother is eating a bag of chips, putting it in a food cabinet to eat later, coming back to eat it and wondering where the heck it went…

Happy Halloween!

Note: the last picture isn't an official costume. It's just something Dove and I did just for fun…
First picture: Hawk as Mystique (in changed form) :P
Second picture: Lion as a pirate (Hawk and I suggested that he could be Jack Sparrow)
Third picture: Dove as a vampire (she's been wanting to dress up as a vamp for a LONG time)
Last picture: Dove as a were-vamp-cat (lasted only five minutes)

We have Mark of Athena! :D

Oh yeah! Uh huh! Oh yeah! We got it we got it we freakin got it! Ok, so we've had it for a little less than a week, but hey, I had to savor it. All right, so I didn't quite savor it… I finished it in one day. But… (inserting dramatic voice here) this talent comes with a curse…
Any way, (normal voice) the next book is call House of Hades.
Yo, check this out:
See? No? Well, it's all like, something (Son, Mark, House) of a god or goddess (Neptune, Athena, Hades). The Lost Hero doesn't have anything like that.
Hawk reckons that there should be Nico chapters in House of Hades. Speaking of which… HAWK TURNED TWELVE TODAY! YAY!
She got makeup from mom.
Anyway, our latest family tradition says we can choose a birthday movie. I watched The Avengers in the theater for my thirteenth b-day this year. Lion bought Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows for his b-day this year. And Hawk has gotten Sherlock Holmes 1. ;) I can't wait…

Feral cat

By Marilyn Helmer

I am the feral cat
Sly, quick and lean.
Through the darkest night I stalk,
A shadow's ghost, unseen.
Hunting, prowling, sparring, yowling,
Senses sharp and keen.
I am the feral cat,
Sly, quick and mean.

NCIS ep worth talking about: Probie

The NCIS team is escorting a VIP through a hotel. McGee is around the rear of the hotel. Gibbs wants to know if it's clear, when McGee sees some people arguing. Suddenly, Gibbs hears some gunshots. The VIP is put in his car and Gibbs runs out to the rear of the hotel. McGee is bending over a dead guy. McGee has just killed someone for the first time ever.
Tony is taking pictures of the and praising McGee. McGee shares no such optimism. He says that he declared himself, he was shot at and he shot back three times. The car that held the dude who was arguing with the dead guy drove away. McGee shows where he was standing and Tony reassures him that they will find the slug.
Abby is happily in autopsy, watching Ducky and Palmer cut up the dead guy. Abby wants to help, and Ducky agrees. He shows three slugs. Two were non lethal. The third was the kill shot. Palmer suddenly looks uncomfortable. Ducky and Abby turn around. McGee is standing in autopsy. Abby comforts him and Ducky tells him that no one is ready for killing.
In the office, Ziva and Tony give the disturbing truth: they can't find the bullet near where McGee was. Gibbs turns to Ziva and gives her the Gibbs stare (Ziva said something that I can't remember). He tells her that McGee is not her dad. He doesn't know how to lie.
Then Abby comes in and delivers more bad news. The blood from the dead guy got a hit. John Benedict. He's an undercover.
McGee killed a cop.
Benedict's partner and boss come by and want to take the investigation and interrogate McGee. Gibbs refuses. Benedict's boss says Benedict didn't carry a gun during a undercover op. Director Shepard says that they WILL take the investigation. When they leave, the Director turns to Gibbs.

Shepard: Before you yell at me, think about how you would feel if he shot McGee and McGee didn't have a gun.

In the office, Gibbs is in a very bad mood. He tells Tony and Ziva to search for the slug again. Tony says they already looked. Gibbs gives him the look. Tony and Ziva go back to the crime scene.

Gibbs: What is going on here!?First Abby's lab buddy frames Tony and then McGee kills a cop! Did someone break a mirror!?

In Abby's lab, Abby handcuffs McGee to a chair in a 'stress free' room. When he gets out, at night, McGee is doing his 'free writing.' Trying to write his novel. Then someone knocks something bizarre on his door. It's Tony of course. He wants to try and cheer McGee up. After yelling at him, McGee explains that he just doesn't want cheering up.

McGee: Tony, I'm not like you guys. You were trained as a cop and Gibbs was trained as a marine sniper. He protected the president of the United States. Who knows what Ziva did in Mossad.

Tony tries to cheer him up by saying that it will soon be a bad memory and that when he first shot someone, he had something like what McGee was going through (minus the cop problems). McGee flashes on the night. He was already imagining that the guy didn't shoot. Now, Benedict has his hands up.
Morning time and McGee is in interrogation. The interrogator asks if McGee was really shot at. McGee flashes again and this time, Benedict has no gun.

McGee: No.

Gibbs storms into Director Shepard's office. He is furious that McGee was made to go to Metro (the place he was interrogated I think) without him. Shepard says that McGee was just a rookie who panicked. Gibbs firmly disagrees. He is about to storm out to go to Metro when Shepard says that McGee is coming back.
When McGee does come back, Abby comes to the office with some news: one of McGee's shots missed the cop.
Abby recreates the scene. McGee declares himself. The guy in the car shot Benedict causing Benedict to go into spasm, making it look like he was going to shoot. The flash and bang of the first gun made it look like Benedict shot at McGee. McGee shot back three times and one of the bullets missed the cop.
Who shot Benedict first? None other than his partner, who was a dirty cop. When Gibbs and McGee go to arrest him, the guy almost gets away, complete with shooting McGee. McGee was supposed to be backup, but hesitates. Gibbs get the dirty cop first. He is extremely angry and McGee. McGee shows that Gibbs has made it clear that he would be fired if he does that again.
In Abby's lab, Abby is plenty happy. But when McGee comes in to find out which bullet was the real kill shot, Abby has to reveal that the bullets were to damaged. She says that it doesn't matter.

McGee: It matters to me.

Choose your own adventure

I read one today… I was a kid reporter and I got some pretty interesting endings.

Murder in the Family
By R.A. Montgomery

Died six times
Went into a coma and dreamed the whole thing once
Got a good story four times
Zombified (I think) once
Indefinite ending twice

NCIS ep worth talking about: Escaped

Agent Farnel is with his daughter, at one of her friend's birthday party's or something, when this escaped criminal (ex-petty officer) comes in and practically threatens him. He says that he is innocent and that he wants Farnel to reopen his case. Farnel can't do anything in front of his daughter. Long story short, Farnel has Director Shepherd jerk Gibbs out of retirement.
Meanwhile, McGee it talking through his teeth. Tony demands to know why. Ziva won't say, so he turns to his probie, Lee. McGee accidentally bleached his teeth. Then they see Gibbs, who is going upstairs to complain to the director. When he comes downstairs, Lee is trying to figure out what to do (Tony has Gibbs' desk, McGee has Tony's desk and Lee has McGee's desk). Gibbs practically ignores them and goes to a completely different place.

Tony: Ok, maybe he lost his memory again and forgot he quit his job.
Ziva: Wouldn't he be sitting at his OLD desk then?

Gibbs goes downstairs to Abby's lab with some Caf-POW. He asks her something and then Abby looks up a throw an enthusiastic mini party. Then Gibbs tells her that she is only here temporally. Abby is not happy (and that's putting it lightly). Gibbs asks her she can find something.

Abby: Anything… temporally reinstated Agent Gibbs.

Later, when Lee says that NCIS is much better off without Gibbs.

Abby: You do realize…
Lee: …that you can kill me without leaving forensic evidence behind? Yes.

Soon, the case is getting more complicated and Gibbs is getting more and more frustrated as he is missing Happy Hour in a canteena in New Mexico. He goes into the elevator, starts going to the lobby when the elevator starts going to a different floor… Abby's lab.
Abby is calling security, telling them not to let Gibbs leave the building. When Gibbs comes into her lab, Abby runs to him… then handcuffs his wrist to her own. Gibbs asks her to find out why the escapee knows every step the team is doing.
In the office, Tony is also getting frustrated. Gibbs comes in (un-handcuffed) and grabs Tony's phone… then pries it open with a knife. A bug.
I won't go into details, but they find the real convict… a guy who was trying to prove him innocent. He killed three guys and robbed a bank. Bought some pretty nice stuff as well.
Tony and his team are happily going back to the office. Ziva is saying that McGee sitting at Tony's desk is effecting him (McGee just used a DiNozzo move and got a date). Then they stop. McGee's desk (Tony's desk) is piled with Tony's stuff. Lee's desk is pretty empty… and Gibbs is sitting at his rightful place. With a mustache no less.

Gibbs: What?
